Homeschool And Its Advantages And Disadvantages

By George Reed

Every parent knows what the best is for their children. The happiness of their kids is also their happiness. For that reason, they will really provide their offspring the best care. They feed them their favorite foods, buy them the toys that they want and many more. And with that, education is also included on their tasks. Schools are the places where young individuals learn many things that parents can sometimes not teach. However, most parents would want their child to be homeschooled and will just buy homeschool curriculum text books for their kids.

In United States, the population of homeschooled children was approximately one million in 2001. However, it grew during in year 2012 and had reached two million. What about this present year? For sure, the population is over three million. Nonetheless, there is really a reason why parents want their son and daughter being homeschooled. Perhaps you have seen those kids around your neighborhood experiencing that situation. Or maybe you as well have tried that during your childhood days.

If you conduct some surveys about this, you would see many answers regarding with question. And perhaps you could identify the common one. For sure, bullying is one of those common reasons why they need homeschooling. As a parent, probably or maybe surely you would get mad whenever you found out that your sweet boy had been a victim of bullying. You cannot guard your little boy all the time for you still have other things to mind.

With that, they discovered homeschooling. It allows parents to protect those children from hazards and bullying. It allows them to watch and take care of them even more. But is that method worth it or reliable? Before you could come up with a decision to have your homeschooled, better know the pros and also its cons first.

Protection and safety are really assured in homeschooling. You will not worry and get stressed out at the thought of your offspring being physically and emotionally hurt by other people. Sometimes your child cannot tell you that he was being bullied because you might be too busy. With this, you could spend a lot of time with them.

Furthermore, you can manage his schedules well. If the boy still has practice at his piano schedules, you have the opportunity to modify the schedules which most schools could not make. The child also got the pace of learning and you may select a curriculum for him to focus.

Like any other things, this too has disadvantages. It takes a strong commitment to do this. Therefore, you must give up your work for teaching your daughter or son. It would be financially costly because aside that you will be jobless, you also will need some educational materials such as books for them.

Also, it might become a problem for your child in the future. Since he only stays at your house to study, he will miss interacting with kids at his age. His social skills will not enhance, making it difficult if he gets older. He will also miss those fun and interacting activities at schools such as field trips, sports festival and many more.

You should really think twice before making a final decision. It might be risky for homeschooling. Nevertheless, just choose the best for both of you.
